Growth of Tendril in Pea Plant

When a tendril comes in contact with a support, the part of the tendril in contact grows slower due to auxins diffusing away towards the side not in contact. Thus, the part away from contact grows more rapidly, causing the tendril to circle around the support (thigmotropism).
